Tusubila CraftS group
After graduation I traveled to Uganda, Africa and spent three weeks at the Center for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods training facility in the Kamuli District of Uganda. The Center’s mission is to train local peoples, particularly women in infant nutrition and sustainable livelihoods.
A group of women have organized a craft sector focusing primarily on weaving, one of the few traditional crafts of the region. I collaborated with Joey Ulven to create a new image for the Tusubila Crafts Group. Still in process, our new logo, design system, basket tags, and website will aim to help their products sell better in the Western market.
I am so thankful for all the amazing people I came to know through this wonderful experience. I will forever yearn to return to Africa and I am excited to assist in the future of the Tusubila Women!
